Trail Feature:

This trail leads to the summit of Strawberry Mountain, in Strawberry Mountain Wilderness. This section of trail affords hikers amazing views. Access this spur trail from Onion Creek Trail #368. The trail is very steep from the junction of the Onion Creek Trail #368 to the Summit Trail is up to a 52% incline.

rom Prairie City, OR., turn onto South Main Street. Follow South Main Street to the juntion with Bridge Street. Turn left onto Bridge Street, from Bridge Street turn onto the first right hand turn. This is also Bridge Street. Follow Bridge Street to the city limits. The road then becomes County Road 60. Follow County Road 60 approximately 9 miles the road then turns into Forest Road 6001. On Forest Road 6001 travel approximately 1 mile to Slide Creek Campground. From Slide Creek Campground the Onion Creek Trail #368 is 1 mile up the road on the right hand side, it is recommended to walk to the trailhead as there is no parking at the trailhead. Take the Onion Creek Trail #368 to the junction with Summit Trail #5002.
This is an OPEN County road to the Forest boundary, then an open FS road to the campground. Please respect the private property to the Forest boundary.
